Today I just took a day off.
Too much had been happening lately. I was swamped; with the development edits of my novel, and the plotting and research for a new novella, the magazine articles, editing the first ever in-house magazine for NTPC Unchahar and a couple of short story competitions. Not to forget, sonny boy now gets homework for 3 subjects (three subjects!! in L.K.G!!… Don’t even ask, else you’ll get me ranting and this is a Happy Day post)
Anyway, this morning, my body just folded up. Hubby pitched in to drop the son off. And suggested we pre-pone the leftovers Friday, up to today. So that took care of cooking lunch.
Relieved of those duties, and alternating a dosage of blaring Coltrane and snoozing every few hours; I resurfaced on the other side of the day, fresh as a daisy.
And that’s what I am #Happy about and #Thankful for, today.
For such days which remind us how easy it is to break the delusion of urgency. For the blitheness of doing absolutely nothing. For people around us, always eager to pitch in, if only we’d ask. For being reminded that life isn’t about ‘having it all together’ all the time. It is equally about ‘off days’ and ‘leftover meals’ and ‘day long slumbers’. And for Jazz, that heals everything, always.
Yes. It has been a #Happy day. And I am #Thankful for all that it came with. 🙂
