DAY10 :: #100HappyDays

Day 10

I came across this video today. It is about an refreshingly innovative idea. And here’s why it caught my attention.

I have never been a big fan of that famous quote by Archimedes ”Give me a lever long and enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.” I’m not sure what was the original intent with which he said it, but to my dismay, I have often seen people using it to refer to all the change they could bring, if only someone gave them the right resources. That’s the thing about this world. No one ever gives you the right resources. No one as much as points you towards them. You’ve got to find them, create them or improvise for them on your own. In my opinion, if one truly wishes to bring the change, he can damn well bring his own lever!

Like the organization mentioned in this video did.

And that’s what I am #Happy about, and #Thankful for today.

For organizations like Aarambh, who are taking matters in their own hands instead of just sitting idly and throwing about their opinions in the toothless commentaries of the sorry state of affairs. For people, who are focusing on actions rather than words. For people who are not hiding behind the usual excuse of lack of resources, but rather coming up with ingenious solutions, like the one in this video, using whatever is available. For the small steps they are taking which will someday add up to a significant whole. For social media, which, when used correctly can be a vehicle of change by spreading such promising messages. And for the happy smiles on the faces of these kids; the ultimate prize that makes all the efforts worth it.

Yes. It has been a #Happy day. And I am #Thankful for all it came with. 🙂
